i am always on msn when i am not out i am on about so about 7 hours a day but i sign in on vu 9 hours a day i quickly do to ticks in the morning so about 49 hours a week but does chang cause i usally spend heaps of time with friends so about 40-60 weekends aswell

i will only be on maybe 20hours a week if i hang out with my friends

Yeah, how right you are ali. What else would you spend 100+ hours on, if not VU?

I would estimate it to be around 5 hours each workday and 10 hours each day off. However I do not actually sit by the computer all that time, it's more of a thing I get back to when Im not doing other stuff. (like keeping the household and doing other manly stuff.

So maybe 40-50 hours a week. of which at least 25 is active time in front of the computer.

Other manly stuff?

Changing the lightbulb.
Keeping all the wires that may or may not have a purpose.
Keeping all the manuals that come with any electronical thing, most of which you don't even own anymore.
Keeping a plentyful supply of batteries new and dead.

That sort of manly stuff?

I am just finding things very interesting about internet addiction, being a previous addict.(I believe my personal record was 13 hours on one online game nonstop about 5-6 years ago) Hence my interest in researching this area.  Defining is there really such a thing as internet addiction? Is nice to see some answers(Honest I hope)  that can give me a look at different people from different areas from around the world.

You can be an addict of almost anything. All it requires is boredom and the right sort of person.

Only 13 hours? Wuss I used to 24 hour it some years ago

Then don't go saying "No Life Alert" when you may have fit into the category at one time...

Sunday - 6 hours
Monday - 5 hours
Tuesday - 5 hours
Wednesday - 5 hours
Thursday - 5 hours
Friday - 6 hours
Saturday - 11-12 hours :-D

Over all = 40-44 hours in a week!  XD

i average about 58 hours a week on the internet when i have school and bout 98 hours a week when i dont have school.

14 hours on days without school
6 hours on days with school (slowly starting to be 7 hours)

and this is almost constantly on the computer, not being on then leaving alot.
